Line-X Military Applications

LINE-X FORCE PROTECTION
For more than a Decade, the standards for technological innovation and new, ground-breaking applications have been set by LINE-X. Even prior to the attacks of September 11, 2001, testing by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) began with a field of over 25 competing products. When the dust settled, only one passed every test with flying colors, LINE-X. It is now protecting assets around the world, including the U.S. Pentagon, from the threat of terrorist attack.

Extensive research and testing has been performed by independent groups such as AFRL, USACE, and New Mexico Techs “Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center” (EMRTC) in Socorro, NM.

During an explosion, fragmentation accounts for most injuries and casualties. LINE-X contains fragmentation, facilitating significant reductions in ”stand-off” distances and increasing survivability. LINE-X has established a very high standard for Blast Mitigation, leading the industry in Force Protection applications.

PROTECTION. IT'S SERIOUS BUSINESS
Versatility. Whether it’s protecting valuable equipment from the ravages of rust and corrosion, protecting global assets from the threat of terrorist attack, or providing enhanced ballistic protection to troops in the field, LINE-X has a proven, time-tested track record in the protection business. It’s been applied to everything from nuclear submarines to Blackhawk helicopters... ballistic body armor to machine-gun mounts for Humvees. With superior chemical resistance, LINE-X is used to coat battery trays in Humvees, extending operational availability and decreasing maintenance costs.

LINE-X Blast Mitigation
Testing by NATO (left) - The side without LINE-X was destroyed and the occupants would not have survived. The side treated with LINE-X withstood the blast. Occupants would have survived.

Photos (below) from testing conducted at New Mexico Tech’s EMRTC show the effects of over 200 lbs. of TNT and 4 lbs. of C-4 explosives (detonated from a distance of 30 feet) on a typical block structure.

AFTER

The untreated side was destroyed, the occupant inside could not have survived. The side treated with LINE-X suffered some structural damage but remained in-tact, with no fragmentation. The occupant would have been unharmed. The blast would have been survivable.

SUPERIOR CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Superior chemical resistance makes LINE-X the perfect protective coating in a wide variety of environments. When applied to armored plating for Humvee machine-gun mounts, it reduces splaying and minimizes fragmentation from incoming rounds.
